AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Meet the team intro

We are honored to be recognized for our programs, partnerships, and initiatives that advance responsible supply chains and empower workers.

MIT SOLVE Supporting Survivors of Modern Slavery Tech Challenge

Issara Institute is honored that Golden Dreams was selected as a grand prize winner of the MIT Solve x Hewlett Packard Enterprise Foundation x The Anti-Slavery Collective Supporting Survivors of Modern Slavery tech challenge!

Issara’s Golden Dreams smartphone app provides a safe space for individuals to share their experiences and gain valuable insights into how to avoid exploitative practices, identify legitimate recruitment agencies and aid organizations, research safe job opportunities, and access essential services in their own languages.

As a winning organization, Issara has the opportunity to work closely with MIT Solve and the Hewlett Packard Enterprise on a 6-month program to further strengthen Golden Dreams as a comprehensive tool where survivors and workers themselves can collectively be the solution.

U.S. Trafficking in Persons Report 2023

We are proud to be acknowledged in the 2023 U.S. Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report as a partnership model for monitoring and eliminating forced labor in supply chains and enhancing worker protections. Issara Institute’s model and collaborative approach was further highlighted during U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s speech at the TIP Report Launch Ceremony. This recognition highlights our dedication to improving labor conditions through our worker empowerment programs, long-term partnerships, and innovative initiatives.

"When President Biden released his national plan to combat human trafficking, he said…'we can accomplish far more working in partnership than we can working alone.' That's true for the work between governments, between federal and local officials, and with and between civil society and the private sector...We see it in the work of the Issara Institute. That's an NGO that's worked hand in hand with the private sector to help hundreds of thousands of workers learn about their rights and seek remediation when labor abuses occur."

                 - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken

Throughout the Accelerator program, we will collaborate with TAT members such as Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Salesforce to enhance our technology architecture and scale solutions to serve a wider range of workers, NGOs, and businesses across different geographical regions. We are excited about the opportunity to make further advancements in our mission to combat labor exploitation and promote responsible supply chains.
